Understanding the Areas, Where Approaches to Rural Development are Implemented

Abstract

In India, more than 70 percent of the population resides in rural communities. In these communities, agriculture and farming practices are regarded as the primary occupations of the individuals. Furthermore, they are engaged in other types of tasks and activities, which are facilitating in leading to up-gradation of their financial positions. Within rural communities, there are number of areas that are in an under-developed condition, i.e. system of education, medical and health care services, infrastructure, amenities, facilities and so forth. Hence, there is a need to formulate programs and measures, which are facilitating in leading to up-gradation of all the essential areas. This will be facilitating in leading to up-gradation of overall standards of living of individuals, belonging to rural communities. There is a need to formulate approaches, which would be facilitating in promoting development of rural areas. One of the important aspects that needs to be taken into account is, these need to be facilitating in promoting well-being and goodwill of rural individuals. The rural individuals are overwhelmed by the social problems of poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and gender inequality. These social problems have unfavourable effects on overall standards of living of individuals. Hence, approaches will be facilitating in leading to up-gradation of one’s living conditions. The main concepts that are taken into account in this research paper are, approaches to rural development are facilitating in leading to progression of rural communities, objectives of rural areas and areas, where approaches to rural development are to be implemented.
